To every job its safety shoes!
And when the tip is not needed...U‑Power's Red Pro!

When we talk about safety shoes, we are immediately led to think of heavy shoes, because we link the protective capacity to rigid, inflexible materials that can create a real barrier to protect us from the risk of any injuries and accidents at work. And often, we imagine real boots, uncomfortable, uncomfortable and challenging to wear all day.
But is this really the case?
Fortunately, work shoes have improved a lot over the years!

Thanks to the constant search for new materials and innovative technologies, safety shoes are, today, much more comfortable, have become considerably lighter and have improved their degree of protection, guaranteeing all the safety requirements of the European Regulation/standard.
But what are the features to consider when choosing a safety work shoe?
Let's look in more detail at what the European regulation/standard and U-POWER's proposals provide for

Research has made available to workers technologies capable of recovering energy, such as the Infinergy® System, which ensures a return of more than 55% more energy with each step, or such as High Rebound, the revolutionary technology that returns more than 40% of energy during both the stance and the push off of the foot.
Which translates into less fatigue during work and more vitality in leisure time!
We have seen in some previous articles the advantages of new materials, such as the highly abrasion-resistant Putek Plus or the use of advanced technologies, such as Red Carpet that can stimulate and reactivate blood circulation and prevent musculoskeletal disorders. Innovative technologies that can improve our Comfort, our work performance and affect the health of the body.
As we always say, it is the working conditions and industry-specific requirements that dictate the choice of the right work shoes, the ones that meet the necessary and indispensable requirements for the performance of one's duties taking into account the environment in which one works and which are, therefore, the best safety shoes for our needs.
If you work on a construction site, for example, where the risk of tripping over iron and rebar is the order of the day, you will probably need an S3 safety rating work shoes, while if you are an electrician your need will be to have an antistatic sole and, probably an S1 rating shoe will suffice.
If you have to lift heavy loads in your duties, the toe box will be decisive, and the choice of safety shoe will be based on its protective capacity; in this case an SB shoe will not be sufficiently protective.
But-what if our work does not involve special risks, what does the European Regulation/standard provide ?
Work shoes fall into three categories:
Safety Footwear(UNI EN ISO 20345:2011):
Marked S or SB - Safety, against impacts up to 200J (20 kg. from 1 m);
Protective Footwear(UNI EN ISO 20346:2011):
With initials P or PB - Protective, against impacts up to 100J (10 kg. from 1 m);
Work Shoes(UNI EN ISO 20347:2011):
With initials O 0 - Occupational, without toe cap.
The difference, as can be seen, is the presence or absence of the toecap and its degree of protection, when present.
Work shoes without a toecap - rated 0 - are indicated in all those situations where you do not handle weights and are not subjected to the risk of forefoot crushing.
This category of safety shoes, then, is divided into different types according to specific characteristics, from 0B (basic requirements) to 05 (with anti-puncture lamina).
The characteristics of the most commonly used categories are:
01 - DIN EN ISO 20347 - Recommended for dry environment.
Antistatic;
With energy-absorbing capacity in the heel area;
Non-slip.
02 - DIN EN ISO 20347 - Recommended for wet environment.
Antistatic;
With energy absorption capacity in the heel area;
Water-repellent upper;
Non-slip.
For these categories of workers, U-POWER offers RED PRO, the range/assortment of toe-less safety shoes in Protection Class 01 and 02 with Infinergy® insert for energy recovery.
The range/assortment consists of 6 total styles including 3 in Safety Rating 01 and 3 in Safety Rating 02.
But let's take a closer look at them!
We're talking about low-top, very lightweight work shoes that are ideal in dry environments, with uppers made of ultra-breathable Nylon and soft suede leather. The PU/PU outsole is anti-puncture, slip-resistant and hydrocarbon-resistant, while the Infinergy® insert ensures over 55% more energy return with every step!
The WingTex air tunnel lining ensures high breathability, thanks in part to its special micro-cells that absorb and disperse moisture. The Memory+Gel inner footbed also contributes to foot health, as it is shockproof and antibacterial, breathable and anatomical.
All styles in the RED PRO range/assortment are "For Her and For Him," numbering from 35 to 48.
Choose your favorite style from:
These styles differ from their predecessors in the water-repellent material of the upper, which, however, remains highly breathable. They are ideal in high-humidity environments
Specifically:
To every job, its right safety shoe!
If your tasks and your sector do not provide for it, it is not necessary to wear safety shoes with a higher safety rating than required: always choose safety shoes suitable for your work and complying with the requirements of the European Regulation/standard.
